Niether of these really achieved what I was aiming for. The lack of consistency is pretty upsetting. These were the only two that were decent enough to make it up, kind of sad. But I suppose the more I sketch the more consistency I will get. This is just one of those down days. No worries.
You aren't going to achieve what you want to achieve in a couple of months... otherwise everyone would be doing it. This is one of the most difficult things to master in design.
